Typical e-Learning Questions

North's e-Learning is not just for computer experts.  There are different modes of e-Learning including fully online (no campus visits), hybrid (on campus plus online), and web enhanced (on campus classes with a web component) Many of North's classes use computers to deliver at least a portion of their class content.

I need to start my class how do I begin?
Virtual College recommends contacting your instructor by email the week before the quarter starts. Instructors e-mail's can be found by selecting the correct quarter from our Course Schedule page and finding your class in the listing and click on Class Details. If your course has an orientation it is important to attend as your instructor will furnish you with web sites, needed passwords and other pertinent information.

Is there a typical e-Learning Student?
The e-Learning office asks students every quarter to answer a demographic survey to help us better serve the needs of our students. Surprisingly enough many online learners live in the local area and could come to campus. Many cite convenience and work conflicts as reasons for taking distance learning classes. You can see the results of our survey by clicking Demographic Survey Results.

Please take our
Demographic survey when you enroll so we can continue to respond to your concerns and needs.
