Getting Started with Hybrid Classes
If you have never taken a Hybrid or fully online e-Learning class
before, you might want to start by checking out
Is e-Learning for You? which
will help you understand what e-Learning is, and if it is a good
choice for you.
To register for a class, you should already have chosen a class or
classes from the
Schedule page or from the
North Seattle web site.
After you have decided on a class here are several links that may be
of assistance.
- Check the technical requirements of the class and make sure
you will be able to meet them. They could include computer
needs, class visits required, need for a VCR or ability to
access one on campus.
- You may want to speak with an Advisor to understand your
scholastic goals and how to achieve them. You can reach an
Advisor at
[email protected]
or in person on campus on the second floor of the CC building,
across from registration.
- If you require financial aid you need to contact the campus
Financial Aid at
[email protected] or phone 206 934.3688.
-
After the 4th day of the quarter and in the case of overloads,
instructor permission is required to add for all classes. Students need to email the instructor
or to contact them in person during office hours or class
meetings to request permission to enroll in the course. Your instructor will then
need to email their permission to enroll you to NSCC Registration
[email protected] with cc: to the
student or sign the add/drop form. Make sure that your request includes your full name, SID, course
and item number so that registration has the information needed to enroll
you. For your current schedule can check online by going to the https://northseattle.edu/online-services or
contact NSCC Registration at 206 934-3663 for more
information.
- Enrolling in a class.
If you are a new student you need to complete the
Steps to
Admission before you can register for the class.
If you are a current or returning student, you can sign up for a
hybrid class using the
online registration or in-person
registration like you would for any other class. If you were a
former student at North Seattle and have not taken a class
recently you may need to contact Registration to have them
update your eligibility and reactivate your account. They can be
reached at 206 934-3663. Then you can sign up for a hybrid class.
- After you register for your class it is important to
check for the Tuition Payment Deadline. If you miss this
deadline you will lose your space in the class and may be unable
to re-enroll.
After you have completed this first step go to STEP 2:
Prepare for class.
