Typical student questions about Distance Learning Get to Know Your Instructors

I need to start my class how do I begin?
Virtual College recommends contacting your instructor by email the week before the quarter starts. Instructors e-mail's can be found by selecting the correct quarter from our Course Schedule page and finding your class in the listing and click on Class Details. If your course has an orientation it is important to attend as your instructor will furnish you with web sites, needed passwords and other pertinent information.

The staff in the Distance Learning office is available to help you with technical problems and to orientate you to Distance Learning.
Please contact us by email
distance@sccd.ctc.edu or by phone
206 527-3738.
If your question is specifically related to your course work please contact your instructor.

Is there a typical Distance Learning Student?
The Distance Learning office asks students every quarter to answer a demographic survey to help us better serve the needs of our students. Surprisingly enough many online learners live in the local area and could come to campus. Many cite convenience and work conflicts as reasons for taking distance learning classes. You can see the results of our survey by clicking Demographic Survey Results.

Please take our
Demographic survey when you enroll so we can continue to respond to your concerns and needs.
