Step 2 - Prepare for your e-Learning Course

Welcome to North Seattle Community College e-Learning. Please find helpful information below regarding NSCC e-Learning and how to prepare for an online class.

 1. NSCC e-Learning office (NeLSC) offers links to resources for online students who are new to
e-Learning. These resources offer helpful information on what to expect and how to access your online class. Learn more about this from our Online Student Orientation.

2. Some instructors hold their own on campus orientation meetings specific to the needs of their class. Check the Registered Students page or the link to "Meeting Times"  to see if your class has one and plan on attending. You will receive important information about your class and the technology used.   If you can not attend please contact your instructor.  Some courses (such as Math 81, 84, 85 and 98) also distribute the textbook or other course materials at the orientation meeting.

3. Learn more about e-Learning fees, books, and media.

4. Please see  Frequently Asked Questions for more information about NSCC e-Learning.

5. Spend some time familiarizing yourself with our e-Learning Resources Tool Box. These pages contain information about online tutoring, campus computer labs and more. These resources may be helpful during your quarter.

6. The Registered Students page will list "Class Information" links as well as links to other important resources including the courseware that may be used.  Student accounts will not be available until the first day of the quarter but there are resources available for those new to e-Learning.  Please go to the link to courseware - you will find helpful tutorials, videos and other resources to help you become familiar with the learning management system that will be used in your class.

During the last week of the quarter, you will be asked to fill out the e-Learning Evaluation form. This form will help e-Learning better serve your needs in the future. Enjoy your class!

After you have completed this second step, go to STEP 3: Begin your Class
