Specialty Installed Toolbars
Students please be aware that if you have downloaded a tool bar such as Starware, Google, or Yahoo you may have problems getting WebCT (renamed: Blackboard - CE) to work properly. You may need to uninstall the toolbar or reconfigure it to allow WebCT to open properly and to allow the popup windows in WebCT to function.
Using
Netscape 7.1 Browser
If you are using Netscape 7.1 and WebCT discussion or quiz functions do
not work, try the following: Go to the Tools
Menu at the top, click on “Cookie Manager” and select “Unblock Cookies
from this site”.
Windows Automatic Updates
If you have your computer configured for Automatic Updates you may not
be aware that an update was installed that may have impacted your
ability to use WebCT. If you have been using WebCT successfully
during the quarter and it suddenly does not work it could be the result
of an auto update that patched a security flaw. If this is the
case you need to recheck your settings for pop-ups and firewalls to
allow you to successfully use WebCT.
