Firewall Information What happens if some of the class features of WebCT (renamed Blackboard - CE) do not work properly? Check to see if this is a firewall or a pop-up blocker problem. If you are using a work place computer, try accessing the class from your home computer (many employers have firewalls designed to prevent access to interactive websites). If you continue to have difficulties with any of the features of WebCT such as opening messages or accessing quizzes, try accessing the class through the Open Computer Lab on campus. The campus labs are configured to work with all of our courseware and if your course operates properly on campus then you will need to explore your personal computer settings. If you continue to experience problems using any of the WebCT features please check in with the Distance Learning Office 206-527-3738 or (distance@sccd.ctc.edu) for more help.
Wireless connections at Internet Cafes: or other places where you do not have knowledge of the Internet Provider can indeed be the cause of errors and there are several reasons.
