IT 111 D1: Internet and Web Authoring Using XHTML
Short Description: IT 111
provides students with a survey of basic Internet services and protocols
including HTTP, FTP, SSH and SFTP. Students also get a comprehensive
introduction to XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets including text
formatting, tables, forms, and page layout with an emphasis on well
formed valid code. Setup and maintenance of web sites and file and
directory structure will also be emphasized. This section makes
extensive use of the Web and email. Reliable and regular Internet and
email access is essential to your successful completion of this course.

How to Start Class: Email your instructor to introduce yourself and login to your virtual
classroom. Instructor will provide any login information required.
Please Note: Distance Learning courses
require active participation and students need to log into their classes
during the first week of the quarter to avoid getting behind.

page. Be sure to deactivate pop-up window blockers on your
computer when using ANGEL.
Please Note: It is very important when
you log into your ANGEL account for the first time that you update
your email address. Once logged in click on the “Preferences” button
on the left side of the page. Then choose “Personal Information". In
the "User Profile Editor" you need to enter a current email address
under the "Contact Settings". Remember to click “SAVE” at the bottom
of the page. This will insure that auto tech support will be able to
reach you.
The protocol for logging into your Angel class account:

For classes using an online component, we suggest that you download
the free version of
Internet Explorer or
Mozilla
Firefox and use one of these browsers whether or not AOL is your
Internet Service Provider. Otherwise, if you are using the AOL
browser, the built in shortcuts may cause problems with most North
Online course tools. If you have loaded a special software tool bar
such as the Google or Yahoo toolbar this may interfere with your
courseware and cause it to not work properly please go to our
tech support on
