IT 124:  Networking Operating Systems 2 - WIN2K SERVER

Short Description: This primarily online course will introduce students to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server through online demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on labs.  Students will learn attended and an unattended installation of Windows 2000 Server, various file systems supported by Windows 2000.  Students will learn how to install and administer Active Directory services and how to manage Active Directory objects.  They will use Microsoft Management Console to monitor system performance, to administer Internet Information Services and to administer print services, install and administer network protocols and services, such as virtual private networking, Routing and Remote Access Service, DHCP, WIMS and DNS.  Students will learn how to back up data, implement disaster protection and recover from a disaster.

Delivery Mode: Primarily Online. (Modes explained)
Campus Attendance Requirements: Three or more mandatory Saturday sessions on campus for hands-on labs to cover course material and prepare for the certification exam.
Prerequisites: IT 100 or EET 131 and IT 122 or instructor permission
