The Search for Meaning: Psychology and Literature

Short Description: The 12 credit course will examine the impact of the Western concept of self on personality development.  Students will be introduced to influential authors of the 20th Century who have shaped how we think about others and ourselves.  Students will discover how writers from around the world explore the issues of choice and responsibility, conscience, perception, personal identity, and how to live a meaningful life. This Coordinated Studies Program will combine Psychology (Personality Theory) and English (Modern World Literature and Composition).
Fulfills some of the following AA Degree requirements: Composition, Individuals and Society,  Integrated Studies, VLPA, and Global Studies.

Students may NOT enroll in any one course within this program without registering for the full program.  Students must register for 12 credits including English and Psychology.

5-credit courses: ENG 102.C4, ENG 120.C4, PSY 210.C4. 

2-credit courses:  ENG 299.C4, PSY 298.C4,
