COORDINATED STUDIES:
Plagues and Monsters
Short Description: This is
a 12 credit coordinated studies "hybrid" course (i.e. part will be done in the
classroom and part online). An exploration of contemporary epidemic diseases - both
infectious diseases like TB, AIDS and Ebola, and toxicant induced diseases like asthma,
cancers and chemical injury - in the light of the sciences, bioethics, and the literature
of monsters.

Campus Attendance Requirements: In some weeks there might be more emphasis on the
on-campus classroom aspects of the course and in other weeks more emphasis on the online
aspects.
