Short Description: This online course introducing fundamental concepts, structure and function of the American legal system. Emphasizes the role of law in society rather than rules of law. Includes sources of law, court systems, dispute resolution, constitutional law, torts, criminal law, contracts, and legal reasoning. This course transfers to the U.W. Delivery Mode: Fully Online. (Modes explained)
Campus Attendance Requirements: One on-campus orientation meeting plus one on-campus final exam. (Final exam may be proctored elsewhere with instructor approval.) Optional in-person activities (weekend or evening) are planned.
